About this artwork

In the works that Boglár created during the Győr art residency, she reflected on the materials, shapes, colours and processes found in the former and still functioning factory. Using a mixed technique (PUR-foam and acrylic on stretched canvas), she created this series of images, which is a paraphrase of works of different sizes. She sought to bring living, moving substance, and stable, simplified geometries, under one roof in repetitive abstract compositions. Observing the transformation of materials and displaying it by the methods of painting winking at sculpture, is a good example of the analogy of art and alchemy. In her artistic resolution, Boglár mentions that the respect for traditions is extremely important to her, so this project had the strongest influence on her creative processes, which dealt with the history of the factory and its surroundings. The Torula community, as a creative milieu, made her resilient again after the lock-down caused by the virus, she felt more courageous about starting to try new things. This time, she moved her earlier figural works in the direction of non-objective images, because in this way she was able to articulate the deeper impressions she had received during the one month spent here.
